Introduction
Co-founder of Sprintrade. After working for a number of years as a full-time professional affiliate, I decided to use all my experience and knowledge to create the sprintrade affiliate network. Sprintrade is based on the concept of affiliation centred on affiliates. I regard affiliates as the central core, the heart of this kind of online advertising. They are the ones who work on the advertising campaign and every day think up new good ideas to promote our customers’ advertising campaigns in the best way.
The Affiliates – and not the Network or the Merchants - are the only essential subjects that affiliation marketing needs. Absurdly, Sprintrade could offer all the advertising campaigns in the world and Merchants the best commissions on the web, but without affiliates promoting the advertising campaign there would never be any user interested in buying the merchant’s products.
This is why, every day, I strive to provide affiliates with best assistance and the most adequate tools to help them promote our advertising campaigns.
Essentials according to Alberto
- Put yourself in the user’s shoes, try to understand what he/she is looking for and create a tailor-made page with all the information he/she needs to guide him/her to buying a product/registering.
- Use powerful statistics software enabling you to know when people are coming, where they are coming from, which keywords they use, what they clicked on before leaving the site.
- Use banners and images as little as possible. Images do not help users focus on the message the webmaster wants to convey. Always ask yourself what you wish to obtain from this web page. Depending on the answer to that question, focus the message on your aim.
- The affiliate’s links should be highlighted compared to normal text and should be in key positions, so that users notice them as soon as the page is displayed. The ‘hot spot’ map is perfect to understand which areas a user looks at when a page is displayed.
- Try not to make the user scroll down to find information. The page must be short and the message obvious immediately. Always remember we have 3 seconds to persuade visitors they have found what they are looking for. In these 3 seconds we must convey the first and most important message – make them feel that, after searching for so long, they have finally found what they are looking for.
